Therapy dogs provide a safe, non-judgmental audience for kids to practice their reading out loud. Bring a book you’ve been working on or choose from one of ours. Read to one of our patient, furry friends provided by Therapy Dogs Boulder County. This program is appropriate for ages 4-12. Space is limited, registration is required. On the day of the event, registered participants will sign up for a 5-15 minute session during the program on a first come, first served basis.

Join us for free, fun cooking classes and free groceries! Cooking Matters will teach families how to cook delicious and affordable meals at home. At each class, your family will cook and eat a healthy dinner, and receive a bag of groceries to take home so you can make it again. You’ll also receive a book with nutritional information, recipes, and more. Appropriate for caregivers and kids ages 6-12. This program is a series of classes taking place Tuesdays from 4:30-6:30 pm starting April 2 and running through May 14. Please plan on attending at least five of the seven sessions. Space is very limited; registration is required and holds your spot for the full series. Please register each family member so we know how much food to have.

Strum, beat, and play your way through the Swallow Hill Music Instrument Petting Zoo. We provide a hands-on experience for kids and adults – led by our knowledgeable staff of “zookeepers.” The entire family can try out ukuleles, hand drums, guitars, mandolins, banjos, fiddles, mini-pianos and more. We’re going on a Bug Safari! Experts from the Butterfly Pavilion will be our guides as they introduce us to live invertebrates from around the globe and teach about their characteristics, where and how they live, and why they are important in our world. Appropriate for all ages. Participants must be at least 3-years-hold to hold Rosie the tarantula. This program is part of Dig It, Anythink’s month-long celebration of gardening, backyard farming and more. Space is limited; registration encouraged.
