Young or old, everyone has worries. Learn about the colorful culture of Guatemala through textiles. Participants will learn about weavers, the importance of Huipils and the legend of the worry doll. Make your own worry doll, adding a Huipil, to take home and tell your worries to before you go to sleep. Appropriate for kids ages 4-12 and their caregivers.

Join us for an hour of mindfulness that is perfect for the whole family. We will share contemplative stories, explore different breath techniques, and move our bodies mindfully in a fun and playful yoga practice with yoga games. Bring your own mat, or feel free to use one of ours.

“Laissez les bon temps rouler” – “Let the good times roll!” Gather your krewe and get in the Mardi Gras spirit by decorating your own Mardi Gras mask. Snack on King Cake flown in from New Orleans while listening to traditional music from the French Quarter. A prize for the best decorated mask will be provided by The Lost Cajun Westminster. All ages welcome.

Make some noise at the library. Pick up a hammer and nails to create your own book bin using plywood materials. The team from The Craftsman & Apprentice will provide all the tools, supplies, and skills you'll need to assemble and decorate a special place to stash your favorite books. Work together to put on a small play. Participants will each get a part to read as we sit around the table. This is a great opportunity for kids and parents to practice reading together!
