Anythink Café to Close Temporarily August 31

The Anythink Café will close temporarily on Friday, August 31, 2012. The Bagel Bakery, the district’s current vendor for the café, is focusing the second half of the year on catering and the Thornton and Orchards locations and has chosen not to renew its contract with the library.

“Over the past year and half, we’ve enjoyed working with Michelle Martinez and the Bagel Bakery to provide coffee, snacks and cupcakes to library customers,” says Pam Sandlian Smith, Anythink director. “We wish Michelle and her team well as she pursues other endeavors.”

Anythink is currently exploring potential partners for the space and plans to offer fresh, delicious food at its Anythink Wright Farms location. More details will be announced later this fall.

I agree also, the Bagel Bakery had less than fresh food. The treats were always stale. The prices were extreme. I would like to remind everyone that a full restaurant seems excessive. Barnes and Noble only offers a coffee shop and people go there for that reason, why change what works? Add some treats and healthy options but remember that some people like soda. How would you feel if we took away all the "healthy options". As the person above said, if you dont want it, dont buy it.

Lets think this through. I don't think smoothies should be offered not because I don't like then but because they are so loud to make. To be hearing a blender all day long would be a huge deterrent for me to go to the library. I know many people do their work form the library and that sound would just cut out a big portion of the library that I and others can work from. No business or personal calls, no Skype meetings, no peace which is one aspect of the library I personally love. Its hard to find a place to work from that does not have some kind of music blaring over the loud speaker. a blender full of smoothie would be such a yuk sound to try to get something done through. I would have to quit coming here to work and find another place to go. That would be a bummer for me, I love my library! I hope you can understand all you smoothie fans.
