Anythink Startup Month: Highlights from a month of entrepreneurial celebration

Business plans were written, new connections were made, prototypes were designed and ideas were brought to life. Check out some highlights from September's Anythink Startup Month, a celebration of entrepreneurship throughout Adams County.

Teens making a difference

Anythink York Street's Teen Advisory Board, a group of teens that help choose items for the library's collection and plan events, put together a market to sell the vegetables they grew throughout the summer in their community garden plot. With some coaching from Denver Urban Gardens and a lot of hard work, they sold more than 100 pounds of food. Not only did the teens put on a great market, they also donated their proceeds and extra food to the Thornton Community Food Bank.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

A geologist, a research scientist and an operating room nurse inspired wonder and excitement in more than 30 children at Anythink Commerce City. Children learned about a day in the life of the experts, their career paths and their goals.

Making connections

The Anythink Mixer: Business, Beer and Banter wasn't your average networking event. Entrepreneurs of all backgrounds gathered at Bruz Beers for an evening filled with everything from live drone demonstrations to screen-printing. Anythink staff were on-hand to highlight library resources that can help businesses at every stage

Careers in Cannabis

At Anythink Wright Farms, major players from the marijuana industry gathered to host a Careers in Cannabis panel and discuss the booming industry. Anythinkers were able to discuss the various opportunities in marijuana including human resources, IT and retail management.
