A letter from the director

Dear Member of the Anythink Library Community,

For the past two years, Anythink staff has had many conversations with Adams County residents. Community members told us they need more programs for children and teens, more access to technology and computer help for those who need it, additional open hours, and more spaces for people to work and learn. This feedback has informed the Anythink Strategic Plan 2018-2022.

We are now in the process of implementing this plan. In order to continue to deliver exceptional experiences for our growing community, the Anythink Board of Trustees is considering a 2018 ballot proposal for additional funding. As a member of our library system, I want you to be the first to know that this proposal is being considered. This ballot proposal would serve three key outcomes for our community:

  • Give kids the support they need. Anythink provides free services to children that help support their educational growth – from story times to early reading programs to after school art and science programs to teen mentorships. This proposal would expand those services rather than have to reduce them.
  • Expand opportunities for people from all walks of life. From kids to seniors to students and job seekers, this proposal will expand support for people who need access to technology and job training.
  • Improve quality of life for families and community. Anythink is a safe place where families can belong, connect and build community.

Thank you,

Pam Sandlian Smith
Library Director
