Design games, win big. Join us for the IMLS Game Design Workshop on March 9 from 1-4 pm! Sponsored by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, this workshop allows middle and high school students to learn all about video game design from the experts. Students are encouraged to submit their designs to the National STEM Video Game Challenge for a chance to earn recognition and prizes, as well as money for their school. The challenge is designed to encourage science, technology, engineering and math learning (STEM) by exploring students' passion for playing and creating video games. The IMLS Game Design Workshop will familiarize students with the process of game design from multiple perspectives, including game system elements and team member roles and responsibilities. Participants will design both simple digital and physical games, as well as learn the concept of the iterative game design cycle. Anythink is one of 20 organizations nationwide selected to host the workshop. Space is limited and registration is required. 

Kate M. Syfert, community relations officer for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, will talk about permanent residence requirements and the application process, including medical examination, affidavit of support, fees and responsibilities as a permanent resident. The program will be in English with Spanish translation.
