I started working at Anythink in Bennett towards the end of 2018, knowing nothing about working in a library at all. My previous life's forte had been all medical office and public safety. So jumping into a world of books was very different for me, aside from the fact that I've always been an avid reader. I kept asking myself: Would I fit in with "librarians"? Would this type of work be interesting or entertaining to me at all?

Moms! Moms are great. Mother figures are great – grandmas, aunts, step-moms, sisters. Since Mother’s Day is around the corner, I thought it would be fun to highlight some great literary mothers (the good, the bad and the occasionally ugly). My list represents the mothers in novels I love. Do you have any particular favorites? Please share your favorite moms in the comments.

Molly Weasley (Harry Potter series)

By J. K. Rowling

I recently wrote a blog titled Lucky Me, in which I reminisced about how lucky I felt because of all the time I had spent reading and rereading some great picture books to my children when they were young.  Well, this trip down memory lane got me thinking. Not only did my children love those books, but I did too - and still do! No matter how unusual it may seem, I checked out some new picture books just for me.
