Using sticks, yarn, rope & wire, craft a mini woven wall hanging. 

Color Stories, Part III: Assemblage Tuesday, Dec. 10, 4-5 pm 

Inspired by Louise Nevelson, craft a monochromatic small sculpture from found objects.  

Color Stories, Part IV: Chains for Change Thursday, Dec. 12, 4-5 pm 

Let’s start a chain reaction…right in the lobby of the library! Begin to co-create a colorful installation that will be exhibited and contributed to throughout the Winter.

Let’s start a chain reaction…right in the lobby of the library! Finish up the co-creation of a colorful installation that will be exhibited and contributed to throughout the Winter.

Color Stories Part I: Your Color Story Wednesday, November 20  |  4-5 pm 

What’s your color story? Within a zine, reflect upon various experiences you associate with different colors. From there, invent your own color swatches with a little mixing of paint and a lot of mashing of your imagination.

Disfrute de cuentos, canciones, rimas y otras actividades divertidas en español e inglés que son perfectas para los pequeñitos activos. Para edades de 3 a 5 años, pero participantes mayores o más jóvenes pueden asistir tambien. 

 

Enjoy stories, songs, rhymes, and other fun activities in Spanish and English that are perfect for active littles. Appropriate for ages 3-5, but older and younger participants are welcome to attend.

Have you ever wanted to know more about folk herbalism to support in taking care of your kids? Local birth doula, Alana Watanabe, will lead this workshop on DIY home herbalism. Topics discussed will include earache oil, immune booster syrup, and upset tummy tea. We will craft these recipes together and each family will take home samples. No registration is required.

Are you hungry for good books and good food? This month we will be reading the play Confessions of a Gym Class Dropout by Chuck Ranberg and Patrick Daley and then make food to go along with it! Please see a staff member for a copy of the book. Appropriate for kids in grades 4-5.

Children in elementary school are invited to read to our wonderful dog volunteers. They join us on the third Saturday of each month. This is an excellent program for children who are learning to read or need practice reading. Our patient dogs love to listen and they never criticize.
