Anythink Commerce City, located at 7185 Monaco Street in Commerce City, will close temporarily for renovations and new construction on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at 5:30 pm. The library is tentatively scheduled to reopen in fall 2010. The district is currently investigating a temporary library service location nearby for limited computer access and book returns. Commerce City residents are encouraged to check the local newspapers and here at anythinklibraries.org in the coming weeks for further details. Customers can return library items to the Commerce City bookdrop, located on Monaco Street, just south of 72nd Avenue.

Anythink in Motion, the district’s bookmobile, makes several weekly stops in Commerce City and surrounding areas. Please check the bookmobile schedule for times and locations. Customers are also encouraged to visit the Thornton and Perl Mack locations for programs, library services and returns. Visit the Locations page for directions and hours.

Anythink Commerce City renovations will include a 2,300-square-foot addition to the existing building with a new entry plaza facing the corner of 72nd and Monaco; a children’s pavilion, computer lab and teen area; and a reading nook with fireplace looking out onto a small enclosed garden. The children’s pavilion will include glass walls looking out onto an outdoor children’s area and the coveted cottonwood tree, which has been a part of the site since before the original library was built.
