Step into Frannie K. Stein’s mad science lab to hear some of Frannie’s famous stories and participate in hands-on science experiments. Appropriate for students grades K-5. Space is limited; registration required.

Kids learn the benefits of stretching and relaxation in this fun, informal yoga class that’s held outside. Each class includes yoga postures (asanas), songs, games, breathing exercises, and space to be quiet, calm and peaceful. No yoga experience necessary. Please bring a yoga mat, towel, or small blanket. Appropriate for students grades K-5  and their caregivers. Space is limited; registration required.

Get up close and personal with live insects, spiders and other arthropods from around the world. Venture outdoors to see what types of insects live around the library. Presented by the Butterfly Pavilion. Appropriate for students grades pre-5.

Our youngest Anythinkers  will enjoy this playtime in our backyard. Themes change weekly, and include messy play, the parachute, building blocks, and bubbles. Registration is not required, but the play space is reserved for children 18 months-4 years only.

Catch up on your Harry Potter narrative at the library every Saturday between now and July 16, when the final Harry Potter movie debuts. This is a family affair with free popcorn and drinks.

  We’ll use a craft book as our inspiration to create something original. All are welcome to make their own unique kites. If we are lucky enough to have a windy day, we can also go fly our new handmade kites. Appropriate for all ages.

  Make a picture-perfect piece of work and learn to edit your own photos using free computer software. Appropriate for all ages.
• July 15 – Fairy Party
  Dress up, dine on miniature snacks and create a tiny fairy friend of your own at our very magical fairy party. Appropriate for all ages.
• July 22 – Fridge Magnets
  With all of your new artwork from this summer, you may need some new magnets to hang it all on the refrigerator. Come create a cute or silly magnet to decorate your fridge door.
