Anythink hosts ‘Capture Nature’ photography exhibit

Community members are invited to explore “Capture Nature,” a photography exhibit on display at Anythink Wright Farms from Friday, Nov. 6 to Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015. “Capture Nature” is the first exhibit created by the Anythink Wright Farms Photography Club, a group of local photographers who meet monthly to explore photography and practice their skills. Inspired by the world around us, “Capture Nature” features individual works from Anythink customers.

“We’re thrilled that the Anythink Wright Farms Photography Club members are collaborating to present their first exhibit,” says Suzanne McGowan, Anythink Wright Farms manager. “The club has been meeting for 18 months, and it has been exciting to see this participatory library experience for adults come to fruition with such beautiful results.”

“Capture Nature” was made possible with help from Anythink Artist in Residence Emma Powell. Powell is an assistant professor of photography at Colorado College, and has been working with members of the club on how to exhibit their works, covering everything from matting and framing to how to hang and organize the exhibit. The Artist in Residence program, where creative community members are partnered with customers to help push their creativity to new bounds, is a main component of The Studio. The Studio, which represents Anythink’s philosophy of participatory learning, has two physical creation labs – at Anythink Wright Farms and Anythink Brighton – and is currently expanding to provide programming throughout the entire district.
