Learn how to sew with our team of sewists. The first hour and a half we will make a special project: capes and superhero accessories perfect for cosplayers old and young. The final half hour will be spent on mending, so feel free to bring anything that is in need of repair.

In this workshop, join professional comic artists and discover how comics go from thumbnails to sketches, from inks to colors, and all the way to final production. Learn drawing skills specific to comics and prepare yourself for a future career as a comic creator. Appropriate for ages 8-12. Registration suggested.

Gather to enjoy snacks and watch a documentary about the world of comic books told through the thoughts and images of the creators, artists, writers, collectors, store owners, independent publishers, and especially the passionate fans who have made it the phenomenon that it is today. Then learn about how to use our streaming movie service, Kanopy, free with your library card. Refreshments will be served. Appropriate for tweens & teens in grades 6-12. No registration required.

Some books are so good you want to share them with the world. Not every good book elicits this reaction, though. Some books we want to keep for ourselves; they’re too weird or personal for us to press into the hands of friends, family and strangers.
