Opened June 1, 2013, Anythink York Street is the latest addition to the Anythink family. This public library, housed on the Mapleton Public Schools’ Skyview Campus, provides community members and students with a sleek, modern facility, a robust collection, 25 public computers, fast Internet access and a wide variety of hands-on, innovative programming. Reserved parking is available for library customers.

Cooking Matters for Parents of Preschoolers

Instilling healthy eating habits early in a child’s life can positively impact their entire life.This series of 6 classes targeted toward parents of 0-5 year olds will not only teach you how to cook healthy meals for your toddler, but also provide a bag of food for you to take home to your child after each class. Classes start September 17 and are held each Wednesday through October 22. Childcare is not provided by the library. You will need to arrange for childcare for your child, if necessary. Signing up once commits you to attending all 6 classes in the series. This program is offered in partnership with Share Our Strength, a non-profit organization working to end hunger.

Anythink Gets Outside the Lines

This September, Anythink joins more than 130 organizations across the United States and Canada to participate in Outside the Lines, a new initiative to reconnect communities with the innovation, creativity and technology happening in libraries. The weeklong celebration – Sept. 14-20, 2014 – also coincides with Anythink’s 5th birthday in Adams County, and each Anythink location will host its own birthday celebration on Friday, Sept. 12, with cupcakes and fun surprises for its customers.

Anythink Libraries Closed in Observance of Labor Day

Anythink libraries and administrative offices are closed Monday, Sept. 1, 2014 in observance of Labor Day. Additionally, the Anythink Wright Farms location will also be closed on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014. All branches will reopen at their regularly scheduled times on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Nan Fisher Joins Anythink as Finance Manager

Anythink has added a new member to its Support Services team with the addition of Nan Fisher as the district’s new finance manager. 

A Colorado native, Fisher comes to Anythink with more than 20 years’ experience in both the private and government financial sectors. In addition to being a senior accountant and controller, Fisher was also a financial analyst for the Town of Superior, Colo. As finance manager for Anythink, Fisher will help lead the Finance Department in overseeing the district’s budget and helping fuel innovations.
