Art from Ashes empowers struggling youth by providing creative workshops that facilitate health and hope through expression, connection and transformation. During this workshop, you’ll work with your friends, facilitators and performers to create poetry, spoken word, or other writing expressions in a safe and welcoming environment. Appropriate for ages 12 and up.

Have you ever wanted to know more about folk herbalism to support in taking care of your kids? Local birth doula, Alana Watanabe, will lead two workshops. This first session will focus on DIY Aromatherapy Play Dough for kids. On October 12 she will teach DIY Home Herbalism. All ages welcome. No registration necessary.

Led by a working author in partnership with Lighthouse Writer’s Workshop, explore elements of poetry like rhyme, rhythm, meter and stanzas. Then, create poems in different forms like haikus, sonnets, sestinas and free verse throughout the month with the opportunity of a final showcase. Appropriate for kids grades 3-5.
