Swing by Anythink Perl Mack this month to check out our chicks. In collaboration with Adams County 4-H, we'll check in on fertilized chicken eggs in our incubator as they develop and hatch at the library. Life cycle activities will be available to take home for elementary-aged kids, while supplies last.

Ever wonder how flubber is made? Join us as a 4-H instructor guides us through several Next Generation Science Standards and the process of making your own flubber! This program will be held online; a link will be emailed to registered attendees in advance. Supply kits will be available for pick-up at Anythink Perl Mack beginning on Wed. Feb. 3rd. Grab a hammer and let's explore one of the wonders of planet Earth: geodes! Each participant will get their own geode to break apart and keep. We'll learn about how geodes form and compare the hidden crystals within each rock during the live virtual gathering. Supply kits will be available for pick-up from Anythink Perl Mack beginning on Wed. Jan. 6th. 

This program will be held online using GoToMeeting. A link to the event will be sent out via email to registrations. Supplies are limited, one kit per registration; online registration required.

Celebrate New Year’s Eve science-style. The Fizz! Pop! Drop! STEM kit includes all the materials needed to end your year with some sensational science experiments. Our hypothesis is that these physical and chemical reactions are the variable you need to set your new year in motion. Register online and pick up your kit at the Wright Farms branch any time between December 21-30. A virtual drop-in session will be available Wednesday, December 30 between 2-3pm for questions and discussion. Appropriate for Elementary age children. Supplies are limited; registration required. Harry Potter’s pet owl, Hedwig, was loved by all. However, they never talked about what Hedwig did in her off time. Join us as we learn about the digestive systems of owls by dissecting actual owl pellets. Will you be able to recreate the mouse that Hedwig ate for dinner earlier this week? There’s only one way to find out! Materials will be available for pick-up at the Anythink Perl Mack branch starting on October 13th.
