It's back! Chess club returns to Anythink York Street. Learn chess skills and strategies from our chessmaster, Dan. Practice your game in preparation for our monthly tournament on Aug. 31. New to chess? No problem! We'll show you how. Appropriate for teens & tweens in grades 6-12. No registration required.

A House in the Sky by Amanda Lindhout is a New York Times bestseller, winner of the 2014 CBC Bookie Award for Best Canadian Nonfiction, a 2014 Libris Award nominee, and has been optioned for the big screen. Most importantly, it is one of my favorite reads this year.

Winners from previous tournaments will compete for the title of Anythink York Street Chess Grand Champion! If you haven't played in our tournaments before, feel free to watch and join in on the excitement. Teen Anythinker, Levi, will be running this competition. Appropriate for students in grades 6-12. Eligible players are automatically registered; observers welcome without registration.
