The Studio introduces new focus for artists

On Saturday, Aug. 17, The Studio at Anythink will host an open house at its Anythink Wright Farms location from 10 am to 3 pm. This open house provides an opportunity for the public to explore the new experiences and resources now available at The Studio by testing out new equipment, attending workshops, and asking questions of staff and artists in residence. The Studio’s recently transformed space now supports a variety of artistic activities, ranging from traditional arts like painting and sculpting to modern processes like laser cutting and engraving. The Studio is currently focusing its programming and drop-in space to support artists of all skill levels and backgrounds, whether they are exploring a new hobby or professionals looking to advance their creative careers.

“The Studio provides opportunities for people to learn through creation,” says Anythink Studio Coordinator Mo Yang. “Through these experiences, community members can explore their passions while also benefitting from the guidance of professional artists in residence. These collaborative community connections not only help people learn, but they provide vital support to those looking to take their creative skills into the workforce. The open house will provide a great sampling of upcoming programs, tools and experiences available to the public.”

Despite this new transition in focus, staff at The Studio will continue to provide hands-on support for past experiences and equipment, including digital design, videography, sound production and 3D printing. Additionally, Anythink customers can continue to check out equipment for home use, including Wacom drawing tablets, lighting kits, tripods, MIDI keyboards and more.

The Studio at Anythink is guided by the philosophy that customers of all ages thrive when they discover and follow their passions, collaborate with others, and become creators. Studio experiences are centered around production and put interest-driven, informal learning into action. While The Studio has two dedicated physical spaces at Anythink Wright Farms and Anythink Brighton, Anythink also creates the environment for experiences to be hosted at all seven of its locations with traveling equipment and programming.
