SPARK wins awards from Society of Professional Journalists

SPARK, Anythink’s magazine, was recently awarded at the Colorado Society of Professional Journalists Top of the Rockies regional contest on May 3, 2019. This annual judged contest highlights excellence in journalism for reporters, designers and publications in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming in a variety of categories based on subject matter and circulation. This is the third year that SPARK has placed in this competition. This year, SPARK received the following awards: First place in Feature Page Design for “Voice of Youth”; second place in Science and Technology General Reporting for “Accessible gaming: Rethinking design for the visually impaired”; and third place in Single Page Design for “Colorado culture.”

“We are always so proud of SPARK,” says Anythink Director Pam Sandlian Smith. “It is filled with ideas, creativity and inspiration, and it is exquisitely designed. For it to be compared among other top regional publications and earn these accolades is a remarkable accomplishment.”

SPARK is designed to connect its readers with people, places, ideas and inspiration meant to education and illuminate. It includes original articles, essays, photography and design from Anythink staff, community members, partners and special guest contributors. It’s available at all seven Anythink locations, online and in select locations throughout Adams County.
