mySummer returns with new opportunities to explore

Anythink invites customers of all ages to READ THINK DO with the return of its annual mySummer program. From May 30-Aug. 1, community members can participate in a wide variety of programs and performances at every Anythink location. For the second year in a row, mySummer will explore the concept of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and technology) with innovative programs and partnerships. Everyone is invited to become a mySummer member for free by registering at any local Anythink or online at anythinklibraries.org/mySummer, beginning May 30.

mySummer Programs
Anythink’s imaginative programs are at the heart of mySummer, and the continuation of Anythink’s STEAM focus creates several opportunities to learn and create. Join partners like the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, Mad Science and Science Matters to discover just how fun and fascinating STEAM can be with hands-on programs and experiments. In addition, community members can enjoy family performances by interactive musicians and entertainers like Ian Cooke, Gustafer Yellowgold and Cleo Parker Robinson Dance. Some programs do require individual registration via Anythink’s online calendar.

miniThinkers
Join us for special programs intended for our youngest Anythinkers – the miniThinkers. Geared just for babies up to 3-years-old, Anythink’s miniThinker program provides a place for customers to spend time with their younger children in a meaningful way. In addition to this interactive program, caregivers are provided with fun, take-home cards that provide suggestions for bolstering early literacy through activities like playing, singing, talking and writing. This year’s miniThinker program was helped made possible by a generous $7,500 grant from the Rose Women’s Organization, whose mission is to help support the health, education and welfare of women, children and families in the greater Denver community.

Enjoy Your Summer in Style
After you sign up for mySummer online or at your local Anythink, receive your very own mySummer water bottle. These sturdy bottles will keep you hydrated as you explore different activities and experiences.

Read a Book, Add a Pom-Pom, Write a Review
All books read over the summer will be represented at each branch through the “Read a Book, Add a Pom-Pom” program. For every book a customer or staff member reads, they’ll add a pom-pom to an interactive display, which will quickly grow and change throughout the summer. Participants are also encouraged to add a virtual pom-pom online or write a brief book review at anythinklibraries.org/mySummer.
