Local Students Display Their Creativity at Anythink Huron Street

Student art project on display at Anythink Huron Street

Students from Pinnacle Charter School are displaying their creative side at Anythink Huron Street. The art show “Literacy is Artistry” will be on display April 30-May 21, 2011, and celebrates creativity in art and writing. In honor of National Poetry Month, and corresponding with Children’s Book Week, students have created incredible art pieces inspired by poetry that express their love for art and language.

“The featured displays show how the students of the Pinnacle have incorporated poetry with visual arts,” says Jay Mealer, Pinnacle art teacher and project organizer. “They have found that not only is a picture worth a thousand words but that poetry can inspire a thousand pictures.” The student art pieces encompass a wide variety of mediums, from pencil drawings to clay relief sculptures.

During the showcase, Anythink Huron Street customers will get an opportunity to vote for their favorite student artworks, and ribbons will be awarded.
