Anythink libraries shift to curbside services

Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in Adams County, and to promote the safety and wellbeing of staff and the community, all Anythink libraries will close to the public on Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, until further notice. Prior to Nov. 23, community members are invited to visit their local Anythink branch in-person to pick up holds, browse materials or get a library card. Library cards are available free with a photo ID, and can be used to access Anythink’s numerous digital resources.

On Monday, Nov. 30, the district will begin offering curbside services at all seven branch locations during the special hours listed below. Curbside services are a contact-free opportunity for community members to access Anythink’s materials and resources. Customers are encouraged to place holds online in advance, and follow special instructions to ensure a safe interaction. All materials returned to Anythink are quarantined for up to one week, and are then handled with care by staff before being placed in delivery bags.

Adams County has recorded more than 22,000 cumulative cases of COVID-19 since Nov. 1, 2020, according to the Tri-County Health Department. While the spread of this virus impacted the ways in which physical spaces can be used, Anythink and libraries everywhere have adapted many services in order to continue to meet the needs of their communities. Anythink staff will continue to offer engaging virtual programs, weekly broadcasted storytimes, and printing services. Additional services will be added in the coming weeks as the library continues to respond to the needs of the community. With a robust digital catalog that includes educational resources, ebooks, audiobooks, and television, music and film streaming, you can find Anythink Everywhere.
