Anythink hosts virtual Noon Year’s Eve family performance

On Thursday, Dec. 31, families in Adams County and beyond are invited to participate in Anythink’s annual Noon Year’s Eve celebration. Held online, this year’s festivities will include an official 12 pm countdown, interactive activities and a lively performance from renowned children’s musician Laurie Berkner. In anticipation of the celebration, families are invited to pick up their very own Party in a Bag at their local Anythink beginning Wednesday, Dec. 16. These kits – available free while supplies last as part of the library’s curbside service – include everything needed to ring in the new year at home, including noisemakers, balloons, activities and much more.

“Across the district, many Anythink branches have long helped families ring in the new year with festivities and a much-anticipated countdown to noon,” says Director of Customer Experience Suzanne McGowan. “Noon Year’s Eve has been such a popular holiday tradition in our community, and we know how important it is to continue providing moments of joy and wonder for children, especially as this historic and unprecedented year draws to a close. By celebrating with our pick-up Party in a Bag and tuning in live on Dec. 31, families will be able to maintain that sense of connection and celebration.”

Laurie Berkner is widely acknowledged as one of the performers who launched the “kindie rock” movement, a genre of music designed to entertain kids and adults alike. Described by People magazine as “the queen of kids’ music,” Berkner is a nationally recognized entertainer known for catchy songs and engaging performances. Anythink’s Noon Year’s Eve celebration will begin at 11:50 am on Anythink’s Facebook page and YouTube channel with activities and a countdown, followed by Berkner’s performance. The virtual event, as well as take-home Party in a Bag kits, are free with no registration required.
