Anythink continues its partnership with Phamaly Theatre Company by hosting a musical adaptation of Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach on Saturday, May 6, 10 am, at The Armory Performing Arts Center in Brighton. Phamaly is a Denver theatre company that produces award-winning plays and musicals with actors with disabilities. This performance is free and open to the public.

Cast entirely of performers with disabilities across the spectrum (physical, cognitive, and emotional), Phamaly Theatre Company produces professional-scale plays and musicals year-round throughout the Denver Metro region. As an Anythink partner, Phamaly Theatre Company has engaged participants as part of the AnyAbility programs, designed for adults with disabilities. These programs include a wide variety of interactive activities, including gardening, crafts and story times.

“With James and the Giant Peach, we are asking audiences to revisit a story that they know and love from their childhood and re-imagine these characters in a new way,” says Tamara Arrendondo, director of development and marketing, Phamaly Theatre Company. “Our family-friendly performance isn’t just a nostalgic adventure, but a great way to challenge perceptions and build upon these characters. We are thrilled to visit Brighton and could not ask for a better co-presenter for our performance. The emphasis that Anythink places on programming for all audiences and participants – and ensuring accessibility – is refreshing!”

Leading up to the James and the Giant Peach performance on May 6, Anythink Brighton will host AnyAbility featuring the Phamaly Theatre Company on Monday, April 24, from 10:30-11:30 am. This program is open to all ages.
