On Thursday, May 9, 2013, Anythink will host a very special story time to coincide with the state’s One Book 4 Colorado initiative. The author and illustrator of this year’s selected book, to be announced on May 6, will participate in in this special event at Anythink Wright Farms in Thornton, Colo. 

From 10:30 am to 12 pm, children, caregivers and educators are invited to this interactive story time with our guest author to enjoy activities and crafts based on the themes from the book. The story will be read in both English and Spanish. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A with the author and book signing.

Both the story time and Q&A session will be streamed live on Anythink’s website so that preschoolers, educators, caregivers and library customers unable to attend in person can share in the experience. The author will answer questions in person and via Twitter. Additional materials will also be provided online prior to the event for those who wish for their young ones to follow along remotely. More details will be available Monday, May 6, 2013, following the announcement of this year’s chosen story for One Book 4 Colorado.

One Book 4 Colorado aims to promote early literacy by providing all Colorado 4-year-olds with a selected book. Books can be picked up at all Anythink locations, as well as public libraries across the state of Colorado. The yearly project is a collaboration between Colorado Lt. Gov. Joe Garcia’s office, Reach Out and Read Colorado, Colorado State Library, the Denver Preschool Program, public libraries, the private sector and nonprofit and foundation communities.
