The annual Anythink Backyard Concert Series returns for its 10^th anniversary in 2022 featuring an all-star lineup of fan-favorite musicians. Hosted the second Friday of June, July and August at the one-acre park adjacent to Anythink Wright Farms in Thornton, Colo., the Backyard Concert Series is a chance for families and friends to gather for local music, food and beer in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.

In addition to free Friday night entertainment, these events also serve as a fundraiser for the Anythink Foundation. Funds raised through food and beverage sales help Anythink to provide special programs and projects for the community. All proceeds from the 2022 Backyard Concert Series will support Anythink’s new pollinator gardens. The gardens will be beautiful, soothing spaces for community members to connect with nature and further the learning and understanding of pollinators in the region. Donations will help Anythink enrich local communities through exploration, learning and play. Supporters can donate in-person, online or by texting BACKYARD to 50155.

“For the past 10 years, community members have gathered on the back lawn at Anythink Wright Farms to create memories and enjoy music together,” says Anythink Director of Strategic Partnerships Stacie Ledden. “We’ve seen friendships formed, children grow up and connections made year after year since the concert series’ inception. This beloved summer tradition epitomizes what we do at Anythink – bring the community together. We’re thrilled to celebrate 10 years of memory making with an all-star lineup while raising money for a great cause.”

Doors open with food and drink available for purchase at 5:30 pm; bands perform from 6:30-8:30 pm. This year’s lineup includes:

Irie Still – Friday, June 10
King Cake – Friday, July 8
Gora Gora Orkestar – Friday, Aug. 12

To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Backyard Concert Series, the 2022 concerts will feature an all-star lineup of musicians who have previously performed at Anythink and have become audience-favorites. Anythink is proud to present a lineup of diverse styles of music for all to enjoy. The series opens with Irie Still, the first band to ever play the concerts in 2013. Then, King Cake makes it first appearance on the lawn at Anythink Wright Farms, featuring friend to the library and returning musician Erica Brown. Crowd-favorite Gora Gora Orkestar returns to wrap up the summer festivities.

Concertgoers will have the option to purchase food and drinks onsite, including barbecue from Dickey's Barbecue Pit, wine from The Infinite Monkey Theorem and beer from Great Divide. Proceeds from food and drink sales will benefit the Anythink Foundation.

The Backyard Concert Series is made possible by generous support from community sponsors Butler Snow, RBC Capital Markets and United Power.

Parking is limited, and attendees are encouraged to carpool or use alternative methods of transportation like public transit, bicycles, or ridesharing apps like Lyft and Uber.

About the bands

Irie Still: Irie Still is a Colorado-based reggae and world music band that has been performing around the state for over 25 years. Their music consists of many original reggae tunes as well as some very danceable ska, calypso, and African music songs. Irie Still founder and frontman, Ras Ronny Noel, has his roots in Trinidad & Tobago, and has since gained wide recognition for his charismatic showmanship leading the band as a singer, songwriter and percussionist.

King Cake: Based out of Denver, King Cake specializes in New Orleans flavored party music. Featuring Erica Brown and Merrian “MJ” Johnson, King Cake will have you dancing and celebrating summertime out on the lawn.

Gora Gora Orkestar: Gora Gora Orkestar brings the sounds of the Balkans to the Rockies with high energy performances. Formed in the fall of 2009, this 10-piece brass band is dedicated to making the audience dance with its infectious rhythm and own brand of feel-good music.
