Colorado Day BioBlitz at Barr Lake State Park

Celebrate Colorado Day and all of the wildlife that makes the Centennial State special. The Colorado Day BioBlitz is your opportunity to explore biodiversity by identifying as many species of wildlife, birds, plants and bugs as possible. Make a difference – your findings will help generate useful data for science and conservation efforts. People of all ages and skills are welcome. Bring your curiosity, a smart phone with the free "SEEK" or "iNaturalist" app installed, and your passion for the outdoors. We'll be joined by Colorado Parks and Wildlife specialists to create science learning opportunities together.

Barr Lake State Park is located at 13401 Piccadilly Rd., in Brighton. Entry is free on Aug. 1. Remember to wear comfortable attire and bring a water bottle.

The Colorado Day BioBlitz is hosted in conjunction with the Backyard Wilderness exhibition, currently on display at Anythink Wright Farms through Aug. 24.
