This fall, Anythink Libraries will debut its newest and most innovative location: the Anythink Reunion Express Library, a self-service branch that expands library access through extended hours, convenient location and customer-directed entry and checkout.
The Anythink Reunion Express Library is located at 15400 E. 103rd Place, Unit 100 in the Reunion area of Commerce City. While this library operates a bit differently than our other branches, rest assured it will still look and feel like an Anythink Library with the same services available.
“You can expect an experience that is very similar. The space is very warm and welcoming with a complete collection,” said Victoria Ortega, Outreach and Community Connections manager. “You are still able to place and pick up holds. We will have computers and printers you can use.”
The primary difference: Reunion Express will be a self-service library, meaning you will let yourself in to the building using your library card and check out materials using self-checkout stations. Depending on the time of day, there may or may not be staff onsite — but staff will be accessible by phone.
The express library, the second of its kind in Colorado, was born out of a desire to reach more of Adams County’s growing population in places that are not close to other Anythink branches.
“This is a way to expand and provide practical services for Reunion residents,” Ortega said. “Although we’ve had the bookmobile there for weekly stops, we’re excited to bring something more to that community.”
The new library seeks to remove barriers to access for community members who aren’t as easily able to visit full-service branches due to their work schedule or location.
The library will offer expanded hours. It will be accessible 7 days a week, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays through Sundays.
“It’s designed to be very convenient,” she said.
Located within Reunion’s shopping district, near restaurants, grocery stores and gas stations, the library emphasizes easy access on the go. Stopping by the library will be as easy as stopping for groceries or coffee.
