Your library card isn’t just for checking out books. It’s a fan pass to music, games, outdoor adventures, digital resources, lifelong learning, community experiences and, yes, books.
September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and Anythink Libraries wants to remind the community “their next great discovery begins at the library,” said RyAnne Scott, Anythink’s director of External Relations and Brand Strategy. “A library card remains one of the most powerful tools available to our community. Whether you’re passionate about books, sports, music, learning or adventure, a library card connects you to experiences and opportunities that can enrich your life.”
As part of Library Card Sign-up Month, the first 250 people who sign up for a new Anythink card in September will receive two ticket vouchers to attend a Colorado Rapids soccer game. In addition, everyone who signs up for a new Anythink card will be entered into a drawing for 10 gift cards worth $100 from local businesses.
“We’re excited to partner with the Colorado Rapids to bring in new people to try our libraries, especially sports fans,” Scott said.
Anythink Libraries has eight locations across Adams County, all of which offer free access for cardholders to books, movies, CDs, computers, printing services and TryIts experience kits that include everything from bug catching kits to State Park Passes and electric guitars. Not to mention, guests can connect with our expert staff who are happy to assist with artistic projects in our makerspace, The Studio, as well as with book recommendations and research.
Each location also offers a wide variety of artistic, social and educational programs for everyone from infants to seniors. In any given month, guests can attend story times, make a craft project, practice Spanish or take part in a cooking class.

Your library card reaches far beyond the physical walls of the libraries, too, thanks to our digital resources.
Cardholders can borrow ebooks, audiobooks and magazines with Libby and Hoopla, learn a new language with Rosetta Stone, search recipes on The New York Times’ Cooking section or stream movies and TV shows on Kanopy.
“There are so many possibilities a library card unlocks,” Scott said. “It really opens doors.”
Signing up for an Anythink card is free and easy. You just need to stop by your local branch with a photo ID of any kind. Membership is open to all temporary or permanent Colorado residents, and we do not charge late fees.
