Anythink Thornton Community Center to remain open during building’s upcoming closure

While Thornton Community Center will be closed from May 18-25 for routine maintenance, the Anythink TCC Library and The Studio will remain fully open during this time.

“We are planning for library services in the building to not be directly impacted at all,” said Jakob Seelig, Anythink Thornton Community Center branch manager. “We’re aiming for business as usual that week, but are aware that depending on what maintenance work needs to be done, there may some impacts.”

The biggest change library visitors may encounter: After 5 p.m. daily and all day on Saturday, May 23, the building’s main entrance will be inaccessible. An alternative library entrance, located on the building’s southwest corner, will be available during these times. Signs will guide customers to this door.

It’s also possible the book drop may be temporarily obstructed, though customers will still be able to return items to staff inside during normal business hours.

The library expects to be open the same days and hours as normal (including a planned closure on Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day), but given the work being done, the building’s power and water will be turned off at some point.

“Depending on the length of those outages, we’ll look at whether we’ll adjust services or do an early closure,” Seelig said.

The best way to stay up to date about potential closures or changes in hours is to check our website.

At Anythink, “we aim to provide library services as much as possible,” Seelig said. “So, we look forward to continuing to welcome you at the Anythink Thornton Community Center and The Studio throughout this time.”
