Tax events at Anythink Libraries
Some Anythink branches host free tax prep events in partnership with Tax Help Colorado:
- Free tax filing assistance by appointment, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28 at Anythink Huron Street. Click to register.

What to bring to a tax appointment
Bring these documents if you plan to visit a free tax preparation site:
- Photo ID
- Social Security card or ITIN
- W-2s, 1099s and other income forms
- Last year’s tax return
- Direct deposit information
- Documents for deductions/expenses, if applicable
Free tax-preparation assistance
These organizations offer free assistance for qualifying individuals:
- Tax Help Colorado: See if you qualify, prepare for your visit, find a free tax appointment location and more.
- Get Ahead Colorado: Find free tax sites and explore tax credits.
- Early Childhood Partnership of Adams County: Appointment-based volunteer income tax assistance location (Tuesdays, late January–mid-April).
- Denver Asset Building Coalition (ABC): Free, in-person help for qualifying households; multilingual support and ASL interpreters available.
- 211 Colorado Tax Help Page: Connect with community resources for tax filing.
- AARP Foundation TaxAide: Free tax filing assistance for all, with a focus on adults age 50+ and those with low to moderate incomes.
- GetYourRefund.org: Free tax preparation services for online filing assistance starting Jan. 31. Available in English and Spanish.

- My Friend Ben – Discover the benefits you may qualify for and find links for applying for those benefits. These include locally relevant, support-based, income-based support, and resources that include tax rebates, direct monies, food and hygiene supplies, older adult and family/child support.
- Colorado PEAK – Apply for and manage your medical, food, cash or other State of Colorado benefits online. The site covers all human services and social programs.
