If you live in Colorado, getting your Anythink card is quick and free.
Stop by any branch with your photo ID, and we’ll set you up with a library card on the spot.
After you receive your library card, an Anythink staff member will give you a temporary password to get into your online account. This password is good for 24 hours.
The first time you log in, you’ll be asked to choose your own password. Once that’s set, you can jump right in—browse the catalog, place holds on items you’d like, and explore the Digital Library right away.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of photo ID do I need to get a library card?

You can also place up to 99 holds at a time.

How long can I keep my items?
It depends on what you’ve borrowed! Here’s how long you get to enjoy each:
- Books — 3 weeks
- CDs — 3 weeks

- Magazines/Periodicals — 1 week

Friendly reminder: Most items renew automatically up to 3 times as long as no one else is waiting for them. You’ll get a text or email notice when something can’t be renewed, so you always know what’s due back.
How do late fees work?
Good news — Anythink doesn’t charge daily late fees. We just ask that you return items on time so everyone has a chance to enjoy them.
Here’s how it works:
- Once your item can no longer be renewed, you have 7 days to return it. If it’s not returned by then item is marked as overdue.
- After an item is 6 weeks overdue, it is marked as lost.
- If the item isn’t returned within 48 hours of being marked lost, the replacement cost of the item and, in some cases, a $10 collection fee is added to your account.
I lost my card, what do I do?
You can easily get a replacement card for free! Just stop by your local Anythink branch to report your library card missing, and we’ll set you up with a shiny new card.
If you can’t make it into the library right away to get a new card, you can also log in to your library account online and mark your card as lost. This helps protect your account until you pick up your replacement.
