A: mySummer is Anythink’s summer program that takes the tradition of summer reading at the library and expands it into an adventure full of activities, events, and more. There will be reading, of course, but we added some extras that help make every summer a season to never forget – no matter how young or not so young you might be!
Q: What kinds of activities can I do during mySummer?
A: Every year we host several special mySummer-themed events at each of our seven branches! All these events are listed on our Library Events Calendar. Stay tuned for more information about events centered around this year’s theme, Create!
A: Short answer? Everyone! Long answer? Every single one of you! We love our community and want mySummer to be something anyone – and everyone – can enjoy.
A: mySummer runs while school is out, from June through July. The specific dates might change slightly from year to year. mySummer 2025 will be from Friday, May 30 until Thursday, July 31.
Q: Does it cost anything to participate?
A: Nope! Anythink is your public library, and we want you to have the freedom to create, explore and participate without the stress of spending money.
Q: Do I need a library card to join?
A: Even though we would love for you to have a library card – seriously, you can easily and quickly get one at any one of our branches – you don’t need one to sign up for and participate in mySummer. But, with a library card you get to experience everything Anythink has to offer, including books, movies, The Studio, and more!
A: We’re excited to offer even more bilingual programs as part of this year's mySummer lineup. With support from our bilingual staff, we’re continuing to build welcoming spaces where everyone can jump in, express themselves, and get creative!
A: 2025 is the first year you can preregister online for mySummer! In previous years, you would need to sign up in-person at one of our branches. But now you can fill out the form from the comfort of your home and secure your spot (and free Kickoff Kit!). Starting May 30, you can still come into any of our branches and register there. Ask any one of our friendly Concierges to help you get set up!
Q: Wait, what is this FREE Kickoff Kit you mentioned?
A: For everyone who preregisters before May 30, and everyone else who registers early in the summer, you’ll get a fun mySummer canvas messenger bag! It has a ton of blank space on it so you can personalize it and make it all your own. You’ll also get a limited edition mySummer 2025 enamel pin, and each branch will have fun summer themed buttons for you to collect. This bag is large enough to hold all the mySummer event flyers, fun bookmarks, (many!) books and more!
Q: Do I need to register for mySummer events in advance?
A: Many of our events do require advanced registration due to limited space and materials. Check our Library Events Calendar for the full list of events and to register for those you’re interested in going to. Plus, we send out periodic email newsletters with a list of upcoming events, so if you haven’t already subscribed, sign up using the form below.
