The Studio FAQs
Here at The Studio, we’ve gathered answers to some of the questions we hear most often. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, we’d love to help — just send us a message using the form at the bottom of the page or email us at studio@anythinklibraries.org.
How do I use the 3D Printer/Cricut/etc.?
Studio tools and resources are available during drop-in or open hours and 1:1 appointments. They’re first come, first served. For popular tools like the Cricut or laser cutter, we may set time limits to make sure everyone gets a turn.
Note on 3D printing:
3D printing takes a little more preparation. You’ll need a digital file to print and must come to The Studio to set up the file for the printer. Once you’re ready, we’ll add your project to our queue. Average wait time is 2–3 weeks.
How much does it cost to use the 3D Printer (and other machines)?
- 3D Printing: First 5 hours are free; $1 per hour after
- Large Format Printing: First linear foot is free; $5 per foot after
- Direct-to-Film Printing: One free print; $3 per sheet after (max 5 per day)
