Answers to questions received regarding this RFP
Q: Typically to add an FMVSS third seat we need to add a smart floor with tracking. Is there a specific area you prefer to have the seat? It will be easily removable.
A: We do not have a preference for the area. We are looking for a jump seat that can be folded up to move it out of the way. Similar to this: Jump Seat 08 – Shield Step Van Seat in Black Vinyl with Morgan Olson Mounting Pattern & 3-Point Belt | SuburbanSeats.com
Q: Do you have a floor plan that you could share?
A: We are open to a variety of floor plans and do not have one to share.
Q: We would install a lithium-ion battery pack system versus a generator. Would this be acceptable?
A: This is an acceptable option as long as it can power the following items:
- Refrigerator
- Air conditioning
- Wifi
- Technology cart
- Laptops
- Interior outlets
Q: Can you provide the dimensions on the book bins for delivery?
A: The bins are 16 inches wide, 10 inches deep and 22 inches long
Q: How many Acore carts would you like? Single sided or double sided? Do you need any flat top work surfaces?
A: We would like 5 single sided carts.
Q: Acore shelves come in 7”, 9” and 11”, do you have a break down or would you like a mix?
A: We would like 11-inch shelves.
Q: Would you like any K-bins for the walls or in the carts?
A: No, we do not need any K-bins.
Q: How many technology carts would you like? They fit in the same section as the Acore cart.
A: We need room for one technology cart.
Q: Will the mini fridge need to run when the vehicle is not in use? (24 hours) Or will it be powered up daily with the vehicle and cool down as the vehicle cools down?
A: The mini fridge will not need to run when the vehicle is not in use. This would only need to run when the vehicle is in use.
Q: Would you like fuel fired heat since we will not have a generator? It heats quickly and pulls from the fuel tank. It has a sensor to cut off when the vehicle gets down to ¼ tank.
A: Yes, this sounds like a workable option for us.
Q: Would an ADA accessible interior lift be acceptable versus an exterior lift?
A: This would be an acceptable alternative as long as this does not sacrifice the number of carts that we are able to carry in the van.
Q: There is no mention of a workstation or a modular workstation. Do you want a standard workstation that utilizes the driver’s seat to swivel to it? Would you like an option for a modular workstation that would be built on Acore brackets?
A: We do not want a built-in workstation. We will be primarily moving the workstation outside of the vehicle for use. We are planning to use the third seat as a workstation with a mobile/modular tabletop.
Q: What type of wall materials would you like? We typically use cork and fabric or just fabric if there is no intention of pinning to the walls.
A: We would like the fabric-only option.
Q: When you mention closed cabin, are you asking for a partition wall or a curtain between the driver/passenger seats and rear of the vehicle?
A: We would like something similar to what is pictured here: Solid Partition for Ford and GM Cargo Vans by Adrian Steel | U.S. Upfitters. There should be a window in this wall so that we can see into the back.
Q: Our timeline is based on when the vehicle arrives at our facility. Typically, it takes 1 to 3 months total from the delivery of the vehicle for the completion of the conversion. Would you award two vehicles at the same time, or would it vary?
A: We will consider awarding the two vehicles based on pricing. The vehicles can be delivered at different times within the year deadline.
