It’s National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo for short) and time to get creative! Pick up your “Writer’s Survival Kit” and then join Sarah Schantz, award-winning author of the novel, Fig, as we discuss the creative writing process, learn how to develop dynamic characters and worlds, and brainstorm ideas.

The program will be held online using GoToMeeting. A link to the program will be sent out via email to registrants. Kits are limited and can be picked up at Anythink Perl Mack. Registration is required. The words we choose to define ourselves and our reality can dictate how we think, what we do — even our experiences and circumstances. Discover how powerful your words can be through a series of interactive writing prompts and a special guest artist performance. Appropriate for ages 12 and up. Join us at a safe distance for an evening of poetry, reflection, and – let’s not forget – fun. Write a poem before we meet—no poetry experience necessary –on the theme of “The Year Was 2020...”. Then join together online to share your poem aloud with our small group, and reflect together on the trials and surprising redemptions that have characterized this year. Bring a beverage to enjoy during this happy hour, or just bring yourself. Appropriate for adults.
