This month, we are excited to welcome Staunton State Park's own park rangers, who will showcase their free track chair program and share their Colorado nature know-how. This activity is open to all and designed specifically for adults with disabilities. Groups are welcome, however, space is limited. Online registration required. Learn more about the best ski descents the state has to offer. Kedrowski will discuss preparation, gear selection, planning, and analysis of weather and snowpack for skiing in the backcountry. Hear exciting first-hand stories from the Colorado wilderness, and get inspiration for adventures of your own. Dr. Jon Kedrowski is a Colorado native who has climbed to the top of Mount Everest and has been featured on Dateline NBC, the Discovery Channel, CBS and CNN. No online registration necessary.

I am fairly new to Colorful Colorado and my spring break is quickly approaching. Instead of traversing to the beach or home, I decided to thoroughly explore all of the places and adventures avaiable here in my new state. After talking to some awesome co-workers and friends and consulting various websites, I've created a top 10 list of things I would like to do. On August 1, Colorado will celebrate its 137th birthday! Colorado is often referred to as the "Centenial State" because President Ulysses S. Grant signed the proclamation admitting Colorado into the Union in 1876, the centennial year of the United States Declaration of Independence.
