Children in elementary school are invited to read to our wonderful dog volunteers. 

This is an excellent program for children who are learning to read or need practice reading.

Our patient dogs love to listen and they never criticize.

Therapy dogs provide a safe, non-judgmental audience for kids to practice their reading out loud. Bring a book you’ve been working on or choose from one of ours. Read to one of our patient furry friends. This program is appropriate for ages 6-12. Space is limited, registration recommended. The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America’s Shining Women by Kate Moore tells us of the dark side of un-regulated industry in an age where science can ruin or save lives. Who knew that those carefully, hand-painted, luminous watch faces would cause the death of so many innocent workers?

Aspiring musicians: Hang out with DK (aka Wayne Watts) with Firelane Music & Media Enterprise to learn how to master the stage. Practice recording and producing your music. All abilities are welcome, whether you’re putting the finishing touches on a track or have never before recorded.
