Art for Kids: Artwork of John Torreano with BMoCA

Join BMoCA Educator Melinda Laz for an interactive online workshop inspired by BMoCA's current exhibition John Torreano: The Big Picture – Painting from the Universe.

John Torreano lives in New York City, but his artwork takes inspiration from outer space! Looking at photographs taken by the Hubble telescope (which beams back to earth pictures of stars, galaxies and black holes far, far away) he then creates large paintings, adding shiny rhinestones and layers of beautiful color!

Log on to our virtual meeting to learn more about the artist’s work and get inspired to make your own art! Melinda will guide participants through a fun art activity inspired by the artwork shown.

This program will be held online. A link will be emailed to registered attendees in advance. Registration closes Wednesday, February 3.

Registrants can pick up necessary art supplies to create their project at Anythink Huron Street (available for pick up during library hours or at curbside appointments) January 25- February 3.

This program is generously sponsored by the SCFD.
