Local Thornton author and journalist Tonja Castaneda will discuss her pictorial history book, Thornton. Tonja will cover some of the highlights of Thornton history, including Hollywood movie star Jane Russell coming to Thornton in 1953 and 1986; developer Sam Hoffman building the first homes in Thornton at around 88th Avenue and Washington Street; how new citizens lived without telephones, street lights and stores when Thornton's first homes were built. Many photographs that did not make it in the book's final printing will be on display, and two copies of her book will be raffled off. Come share your stories during this wonderful trip down memory lane.
