Schrager covers politics for KUSA-TV, the NBC affiliate in Denver. In more than 15 years in the business, he has won numerous broadcast journalism accolades, including more than a dozen Emmy awards. Schrager and his family live in the Denver area.

Architect Dennis Humphries of Humphries Poli Architects reviews the design development for Anythink Perl Mack’s proposed renovations, scheduled to begin next month. Features of the renovation include a new neighborhood entrance from El Paso Boulevard; a children’s area, teen space and computer lab; an expanded program space; and a porch along the south side of the building. Sustainable features will include day lighting, geothermal heating and cooling, and a community garden planned for the west side of the property.
The Midnight Knifty Knitters, Anythink Bennett’s adult knitting club, meets every Thursday in front of the fireplace to knit. Please bring your own supplies.

Family Place Libraries™ is a network of children’s librarians nationwide who believe that literacy begins at birth, and that libraries can help build healthy communities by nourishing healthy families. Parents and caregivers with children ages 0-3 are welcome to sign up for this five-week series beginning May 5, 2010. Participation will be limited to 12 families. Different childhood experts will be on hand to talk to parents and play with children. Each week, new learning and exploration activities will be offered.
Learn from local Brighton author/illustrator, Marina Galasso, how to create the unique illustrations used in her recently self-published book, I Wish. Galasso discusses how she wrote her story and published the work. Participants will receive a book to take home that includes the illustrations created in the session.
