Anythink hosts Teen Filmmakers Challenge

To encourage and showcase the creativity of its customers, Anythink Wright Farms is hosting a Teen Filmmakers Challenge. Through April 30, area teens in grades 6-12 are invited to get behind the lens and submit their original works for a chance to win prizes in six different video categories: Funniest Vine; 5-minute Narrative Short; 10-minute Narrative Short; Anythink Commercial; Book Trailer; and Music Parody. First- and second-place prizes will be awarded per category, as well as an overall Best in Show. Prizes include session time in The Studio at Anythink Wright Farms, as well as a $10 Amazon gift card for first-place winners and a $50 American Express gift card for Best in Show. The Studio at Anythink Wright Farms is a digital learning lab where teens can explore the latest in digital technology and access the tools to fuel their passions.

“Anythink teens have the opportunity to step behind the lens and let their imaginations soar as they produce their own short film,” says Kristen Thorp, teen guide at Anythink Wright Farms. “With a wide variety of categories, there are a number of ways for teens to share their personal style and talent.”

Videos can be submitted via email to wfteens@anythinklibraries.org up until April 30. Submitted videos may be shared in the library, via Anythink’s website and social networks, and with local media outlets. Awards will be shared at the Video Showcase on Saturday, June 6, at Anythink Wright Farms.
